Just some last words as MC @BAZI 06/07...

Hey AIESEC BAZI!!!

Today is, oficially, the last working day for the MC 06/07... the last day when the HIKERS are leading @BAZI...

On Monday a new team is starting... a high talented team that will, for sure, rock the house...

So, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for each one of you that made part of this year, of this incredible experience that I had...

During this year, I had moments when I was totally lost, didn't know what was my role and where I was supposed to go... but I also had moments when I was very happy, celebrating results...I had moments when I wanted to give up, but I also had moments when I thought being MC was the best choice I did...I had moments when I hated SP and living in the MC house, but I also had moments of discovering the city and shared good moments with the people in MC house...I had moments where I worked a lot and was totally exhausted... and then had moments when all the work and nights without sleep were worth!

In all these moments I learnt, I grew, I developed, I became a better professional and a better person!

So... THANKS for all the people that made this year be special for me...

Thank you RE, SS, BS, RP, USP, UB... Thanks for teaching me how to be a coach, thanks for being open, for trusting, for building together... thanks for being more than coachees, but being my friends! Thanks for the coach visits, the time I spent in your cities, the talks about personal stuff, the sharing, the parties...Thanks for aiming to be the best, for yur ambitious... keep this and you'll grow a lot in your LCs!!

Thank you FZ, LD, GO (and again RP and UB)... thanks for showing me all the enthousiasm to build a new AIESEC... thanks for trusting and letting me be part of this new @ you were building... and thanks for the friendship we could build even in few time... you are awesome people and I'm sure you'll build strong @ in your cities!

Thank you Project Leaders (VPs, OCPs, PDs, PMs... all the people that worked hard to implement projects in @BAZI)... thanks for believing in our strategy and putting all your will and energy to make it happen! Thanks for your hardwork, for sharing knowledge, for learning together with me, for giving me feedbacks, for being supportive and for asking questions... you're pioneers in the Project Implementation... and if @BAZI can grow to reach our goals for 2010, I'm sure you'll be essential part of it!

Thank you NSLs for working with me, for leading the results in your strategies, for supporting my strategies... Thanks for being HIKERS together with us, for building together, for leading @BAZI with us... and thanks for being good friends, for sharing not just the hard moments, but also the good ones... you're amazing individuals and I wish you all the best in your strategies and in your personal development... I really want to see you rocking and celebrating a lot your results in the end of your term!

Thank you members of @BAZI!!! You made my year worth!! You helped me growing!!
I'm saying good-bye today... but I'm sure we'll still meet, we'll work together again, we'll keep in touch, we'll still be friends!!

I'm very happy to have lived this intense and wonderful year!! I'm very happy for all that we built, for all the people I met, for all the friend I made!!

Last weekend the Hikers went to Itapecerica da Serra (yes! the same place where we'll have CONADE) to have our MC TEAMDAYS!!

This is the 4th time we get together to have teamdays...

We did some things that we do every teamdays...

Feedback session, where we have the competencies assessment results and receive feedbacks to help our development...

Analyze @BAZI's current state, paint the map and review MC plan...

Discuss about the LC's reality (using the cluster analysis) and do qualitative analysis (what gives us the tendencies)

Lots of interesting discussions... about important topics for this time of the year...

And of course... we had fun!

This time we had Danilo (NSL CSR) participating with us... and also Diogo (NSL SP/PR) and GI (OCP CONADE) in some specific sessions

What was very cool in this teamdays was that we could enjoy CONADE's site and start imagining how the conference will look like...

Teamdays was very cool... a very important moment for us to see our results so far and evaluate how we are enjoying our experiences and how much we've learnt in this MC term :)

Also, it was good to bring us the needed energy for the 3 last months of our term

So... be prepared, because we'll rock CONADE!!!! The site is awesome and the Hikers are full of energy!!!

Argentinean Night

Last monday we had Bárbara's "Cooking for the team"...

and as I went to Argentina in 2004, I decided to cook argentinean food and have an argentinean night!! :)
So... with the help from Maju (@GV) and Iritzi we prepared ALFAJORES...

And with help from Tai (@IT) and the Hikers we prepared "Pescado al vino" (yes! fish boiled with wine)

Then we had the food...

Gabiru sharing his passions...

We implemented a very cool schedule of activities in our MC team...

We call it "Momentos de Calidad"... and they are moments when we have our team together to do something really nice.

So, we have 2 kinds of "Momentos de Calidad"... and we have 1 activity per week, alternating between the 2 kinds...

This way, we have "Sharing my passions" and "Cooking for the team"...

"Cooking for the team" is when the MC member is resposible for cooking something for the whole team... we can cook food from our countries (or regions in Brasil), from countries we've been to... or simply something that we really like to eat (and cook!) to share with the team

"Sharing my passions" is a moment when the MC member chooses something he/she likes to do and invites all the team to do together with him/her.

So... this week we had the 1st Momento de Calidad... when Gabiru shared his passion with us...

He prepared a night of playing pocker!!!

All of us learnt how to play pocker... and we bet "War coins" (yes, that small red, blue, green, etc. ones from War game... hehehe)

Last week we had AI visit at the MC!!!

Yes, do you think just the LCs have coach visits? ;) The MC also has it!

So... introducing you our coach:

So, during the week she was here we worked a lot...
went to a lot of external meetings
had lots of meetings in the MC office...

But of course we also had lots of fun...

Juli, the only MC member who wasn't here, was the 1st one to say "Felicitaciones" to me (by phone, at 00:01... hehe)

The team, together with Rogerio (@FL - OCP NPM), Lari (@VT - OC NPM), Nana (LCP @VT) and Piret (SSGN board) went to Esquenta (our "official boteco")...

This year, I had "Happy birthday to you" in 3 laguages (portuguese, romenian and stonian!!)

Teamdays

At 23, 24, 25 and 26 of July our team went to the 1st TEAMDAYS :)

We started sharing the "river of our lives"... and discovered some interesting points about each other lifes...

After sharing the past, we also shared the future... our dreams, our personal vision... and we connected to the others

We get to know ourselves better... discovering our streghts (and sharing them with others... to see how we complement each other)

We also went through a process to define how we wanted our team to be... how we wanted the team environment, the behavior... and we arrived to our PRINCIPLES and our BRAND :)

*** it was a very interesting moment... because in the 1st day we discussed a lot about the expectations, the behaviors, the values we wanted to have... and we had more than 5 flipcharts full of ideas, words, sentences that we wanted to include in our brand...
than, during the night, while some people were drinking, Gabiru was alone somewhere in the house, writing...
and, in the next morning, he came to us "I've tried to compile our ideas"... and presented us the most wonderful thing we could have: our brand was defined!! And we could totally identify ourselves to that!! :D

After having the principles we started to think about our name, our "slogan", the image we wanted to be identified with... (many crazy ideas came... hehe)

Ah... of course we also shared our personal lifes playing "I've never..."

Then, we started the planning...

... lots of discussions about product leadership, our role in SSGN, some specific topics (as conferences, regionalization, coaching) and, of course, everything we brought from pre-plan discussions

... action plan for our CSFs

... discussions about "what are we going to do without Deeptesh?" "how to split his job between us?"

... definition of how we will work with the NFAs... how we will work with our Projects in the MC

... definition of the taskforces, initiatives... our roles in the team... and, finally:

Spend 4 days away from the MC house/office was very good for us... (thanks Diogo!!)

... we had wonderful breakfests...

... we played soccer, volley... and... hum... had fun!! (hehehe)

Irina's arrival

On July 20th we woke up at 7 AM

Then we put an AIESEC t-shirt and went to Guarulhos...

We took with us a welcome package, an AIESEC banner, some yellow and green balloons, a brazilian flag, some funny things (like hats, necklaces...) and good humor and good mood!!

There, we had to wait for 1 hour for the flight to arrive...

So we were singing brazilian songs and getting into the mood to receive our first gringo in the team: Irina!!

When we were tired to sing brazilian songs we tried romenian songs... hahaha

People in the airport were looking at us with strange faces...

Can you imagine why??

Then, when Irina arrived :D :D :D

We surrounded her and...

"No meio da floresta tinha uma coruja! De dia ela dormia, de noite ela fazia: TCHU-TCHU!!"

WELCOME IRITZI!!!!

Then we gave her the welcome package, the brazilian flag... and lots of hugs!! :D

Look at her face... she really enjoyed the reception!! ;)

(actually she said that when she was comming, she first saw Mauricio - that was alone, far from us, for the people not to see he was with us - she thougth "cool, I'm gonna have a reception like normal people"... but then she saw us!! hahahaha... poor girl!)

Then, already at home... we had our first meal together: feijão tropeiro!! (well done, Gabiru!!)

Bárbara in Atibaia and Ribeirão Preto

Last week I had some very nice days with the people from @USP and Ribeirão Preto...

On monday I went to Atibaia, where @USP was having their planning weekend and also delivering a Discovery Days to Ribeirão people...

So, while they were planning their CSFs, I was taking care of Ribeirão's agenda... @XP principles, change agents characteristics, expectations about AIESEC, opportunities for AIESEC in Ribeirão, getting to know each other, etc...

The day was very nice!! Thanks to the OC (Maira and Fernando) for picking me up at the bus station and preparing me a special breakfest! :)

Congratulations @USP for the organization and the hard work! (I guess you had an excelent planning!) And congratulations for the FACI team that was able to handle 2 agendas at the same time!

And thanks for the good environment and the excitement you had all day long (even if you were very tired and had worked very hard the 2 days before)!!

In the end of the day I went to Ribeirão Preto with the guys from there...

After a very exciting trip (the driver couldn't see... and we couldn't move because we were in 5 people, 3 pillows, 1 food box, 1 laptop, 1 blanket and lots of luggage... but we could laugh a lot!!) we arrived to Ribeirão (a terra do tesão!) at midnight (and still had to prepare a meeting for the tuesday morning!)

On tuesday we worked a lot... we met a posible future partner, built the team's vision, talked about @ direction, identified ourselves with the vision 2010 and talked about how to work in Ribeirão...

At night, the guys took me to Pinguim (a very famous bar there!)... it was very nice! (see our happy faces in the pictures!)

On wednesday... more work!! Planned the first activities they will do if they become an extension, talked about organisational structure and had a training about project management (given by one of the GI members!)

We worked hard but, of course, we also had lots of funny and relax moments:

* playing the guitar and singing on the grass

* having lunch at "bandejão" (and drinking "yellow-flavored-juice")

* walking through the USP campus... with many trees, grass and lots of sun!

* and just enjoying being together (the guys are very nice!)

It was very nice to be away from SP for 3 days! Thanks @USP people and Ribeirão people!! You are great!! And I believe you can do a very good job (USP having their plan ready and Ribeirão presenting their viability study)

MC Pre-Plan

In the weekend July 8th and 9th we did our pre-plan...

It was the first input to our year plan, where we came up with many interesting ideas and consolidated a lot from our transition... also we started the action plan for our strategic map...

So... to do our pre-plan we went to USP, we got lost in the way :P ... but finally we arrived there!!

There we made new friends... (actually Rod made a new friend...)

We worked a lot...

We discussed ideas...

We brainstormed lots of ideas...

We worked on our Strategic Map... we talked about BSC, CSF, NFAs...

We arrived to conclusions...

And we had very good moments together...

And we left the weekend willing to do a really good job this year! ;)

PS: I need to discover how to upload videos here in the blog... we have some really funny videos... if somebody can help me you would be able to see how Rod cleans a room, how Gabiru cooks... (believe me, they have a really unique way to do that! ;) hehehe)

Transition is over...

June, 30th

Last day of transition

Current MC leaving... new MC starting (from monday on... it's everything with us!!)

Lots of learning during trasition period...

Lots of changes in our lifes...

* our team leaving our cities to come to live in SP... some of us finishing university, all of us being far from many people that are very important to us... all of us adapting to the new house, the new team, the new life

* the current team leaving the house where they spent 1 whole year... all of them starting a new experience (traineeships, new MC term, global/regional coordinators, going back to their countries)... all of them realizing it was an amazing year full of learning and changes in themselves

Lots of expectations...
we are really excited to start working, we have lots of ideas, we are full of energy!

Today we were sharing our feelings...
... we were rembering when we decided to apply (why did we do this choice? what did we think in that moment?)
... seeing if things changed from that moment untill now
... sharing what we want from this experience, what we expect from the team, from the work, from the relationship with the teammates, from the personal side...

We shared experiences with the current team...
... what did they learn from the year?
... which were their expectations? did they fullfill that?
... which were the biggest changes they had?
... what about the experiences they lived here? how did they grow?
... how intense was the year?
... what would they do different?

And doing this we had a very cool reflection moment...

very nice moment to reflect... to set goals for the year, set expectations about ourselves... and to see how will we work, how will we be this year...

We're about to start... a very good experience... a very intense year...

Last weekend Gabiru was in Belo Horizonte and finally arranged some time to say good bye to good friends, family and girlfriend. The party was during the brazilian soccer VICTORY agains the australian team! Already miss you all guys! Kisses mom and "mormeu"!

It was at CONADE that we first met as a team...

Being presented to the whole network as the new MC: Coelho, Gabiru, Bárbara, Mauricio and Rod (we missed the foreigners there... Irina, Juliana and Deeptesh)

Transition

Our team is already in transition!

Since 1st of June we're in transition period (untill June 30th)

We're already living in the MC House (at Vila Mariana in São Paulo)

We're having a very intense transition agenda (it's like a 1-month conference!!) - and we are learning a lot!!

Also we are getting to know the city - discovering São Paulo and the nice things we can have here (if anybody wants to take us to a SP Tour during the weekend... just invite us!!)

Last weekend the guys went to Aclimação Park to play soccer and I went to visit a scout group near here.

Also we went to Marisa Monte's concert (Segala, Gabi and I)... it was awesome!! She is so great!!
